(Current Updates as of 5/10)

Happy Spring!!!!

I am SO glad to be back in the city and I have embraced 30 with open arms!  This new decade is already proving to be filled with good fortune!  Speaking of decades… come August I will have been in NYC for 10 years!!! That’s right…A DECADE!  Wow, where has the time gone?

COMING UP:  I am ecstatic to announce that I have been asked to perform in Scott Alan’s Monday Night ‘New Voices’ concert - Monday May 24th 7pm @ the Duplex!! I am quite honored to be apart of such a special evening!  There are 5 of us, hand picked by Scott Alan, that will be singing the music of David Kirshenbaum (Vanities, Summer of '42), hosted by Erin Davie!!!  Below you will see the Playbill & Broadway World links with info...please make your reservations NOW...as most of you know the Duplex is SMALL - and I won't lie...I want all of MY peeps to fill it up :)

OK…so I need help putting a few things out into the universe!  This year – I WILL be on Brother’s & Sister’s, GLEE, Nurse Jackie, and 30 Rock (and anything else being sent my way, of course!!!  The absolute BEST way to make things happen is to put them out there – “en mass!”  So everyone – join in and put out the vibe!!!!
Other than that, I have jumped back in the game and am waiting for other prospects to materialize…
The 29 hour reading of HURRICANE was super successful and now we are in the “hurry up and wait” phase…otherwise known as the “raising money phase!”  A wonderful story and a BEAUTIFUL score deserves a mainstream chance!  Keep an eye out for this one!!!

Also the “Mock Your World – The Songs of Andrew Byrne” concert was a HUGE success as always!  It was such a delight to perform at the Laurie Beechman.  Thank you SO much if you were able to make it out and no to worry, if you missed it I believe there is another one on its way come August.  It is becoming quite a hot ticket so keep your ears peeled!

Prior to the tour (that shall NOT be named), I had just finished the reading of a new musical called The Jerusalem Syndrome, starring such B’way veterans such as the lovely Liz Larsen and the quick witted Chip Zien! I played the “heart-throb” Soap Star ‘Mickey Rose,’ who is heading to Jerusalem to film a biblical mini-series where he will be portraying Abraham. He ends up getting so much into character that he begins to believe he actually IS Abraham and finds himself amongst a community of like-minded ‘crazies!’ With an amazing cast and creative team, I feel very lucky to have been asked to be a part of it.

If you have missed out on my previous happenings this year – keep reading below…

As you may have been keeping up with on Facebook, I also just finished a NYMF show called HURRICANE with an astounding cast of 30! We rocked the festival and had quite the buzz about us-selling out in a week flat and having to add 2 additional performances! With Michael Bush as our director, Kelli Barclay as our choreographer, and Jesse Vargas as our Musical Director, we were in great hands and created an utterly beautiful piece. Hurricane tells the true story of the devastating hurricane of 1928 that spanned 150 miles wide and completely wiped out Napatree Point, Rhode Island and the surrounding towns.

Lots of new things have transpired. The biggest change is I have now become a SPINNING INSTRUCTOR!!! I received my certification in January 2009 and I teach for 5 clubs here in Manhattan; Equinox, Sports Club L.A., NYRHC, Clay, and Nimble Fitness!!! If you are near by and feel like sweating- contact me via email or on Facebook- and you can be my guest. Remember, it is first come first serve- I can only get so many people in. You will also find a schedule of when I am teaching, on Facebook- check around my site for the new 'Facebook Badges' that will link you directly to my profile!

Ironically, I have also just landed the world premier of a one man show, Off B'way, entitled "King of the Mountain." My character is racing his final race in the Tour De France and YES, I will be on a bike the entire time, approximately 1 hour, racing to the finish line- while talking!!! Who knew, as a spinning instructor, that I have been training for this show all along? I believe there will only be 3 performances @ Manhattan Rep. (for this incarnation) at the end of April. More details to come!

Also, check out my NEW YouTube links under Videos on the Gallery page. For those of you who have missed my past few concerts, I have provided links to the crowd "favorites!" They are gut-busters!

...Remember when I was in the recording studio laying down those new tracks??? Well they are here on the Gallery page under Voice Clips...And the most exciting part of it all is that LAUREN KENNEDY, yes the one and only, graciously agreed to record a duet with me. We recorded Jason Robert Brown’s “I’d Give It All For You.” All I can say is WOOOOOOOHOOOOOO! We had such a blast and I am forever indebted to her!

And what of the Lone Star drama you may be asking yourselves? Well we are still, yes STILL, waiting in the wings for a new start date! KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED again!!! It is going to happen! As many of you know I was slotted to make my Broadway debut in Lone Star Love for the 07/08 season at the Belasco Theatre. We are still on a bit of a hiatus and will hopefully go back into rehearsals soon. After we won the hearing, the Quaid’s appealed - big surprise. Then they dropped the ball, missed a few deadlines, and we won by default. Now we are just hoping for a settlement to be reached…that is all I can say but if you want a bit more of the original story, please read below and visit my Press page for the articles...

…there have been huge “goings-on” in the past few weeks and you really have been stuck under a rock if you have not heard. All of us actors from the show went to our union- Actors’ Equity- to file charges against Randy Quaid and his wife/manager Evi Quaid. The long and short of it is that they found Randy guilty on ALL counts, banned him from the union FOR LIFE, and fined him $81,000. Evi also caused quite a stink in the L.A. office- attacking one poor 76 year old member, drawing blood, etc. I encourage you to go to my PRESS page and click on the updated links!!! It is stranger than fiction my friends and it is ALL TRUE! If anyone wants to offer me a book deal now, I have already started writing!!! If you have any further questions, please feel free to email me and I will fill you in as best I can.

Despite the set back I am confident that the show will prevail- and with this new development, it is now much easier for us- being publicly legitimized and all! Also, Lone Star Love has not been around for 18 years to just quit now. We had a blast in Seattle, for the most part, and the show was received well. The only bad things to be said about the show we already knew, but since the show was “frozen” due to circumstances out of our control, I am also confident that when things are ironed out we will have one helluva show to bring to New York.
In the meantime, please think great and positive thoughts for LSL, for this is not just another show to bite the dust on its way to the Great White Way. We have a special little show with lots of heart and personality and I pray you will all get the chance to see it in all its glory!!!

Thanks so much for visiting and please come back soon! To get in touch with me please email me at

Truly -
Ryan
